Company Background

Established in 1989, Bitstop started as a sole proprietorship in a small corner of the Magsaysay Commercial Center. The range of services included only encoding and printing, and sale of computer hardware and accessories. Tragically, just one year after, the 1990 earthquake leveled the entire structure.

Bitstop was forced to relocate and start from scratch. The support given by the computing community of Dagupan was invaluable in those hard times. Luckily, early 1991 marked the opening date of Bitstop in its present business address along the A.B. Fernandez Ave. touted as the busiest downtown district of Dagupan City.

Under the far sighted leadership of its executive officers, the company expanded laterally by adding more products. From basic starter computer packages and accessories, the company decided to offer other information technology products which included high-end computer peripherals, office automation products, point of sale hardware, computer books, etc.

In order to be a truly one stop computer and information technology shop, software components should not be taken lightly. Bitstop supports the Intellectual Property Rights bill and embraces the policy of bundling only original and licensed software with the computer packages. At present, Microsoft, Borland, Lotus and other popular software are being distributed.

Where would a Computer shop be without a highly competent and efficient servicing and engineering department as well as knowledgeable software support team? Bitstop's team of service personnel and software techies see to the needs of its client. Bitstop's policy is to ensure continuous professional education for its employees. Bitstop staff are required to attend computer seminars, exhibits and in-house training and prepare themselves for continuing professional growth.

Late 1993 saw Bitstop inking a marketing agreeement with Easycall Communications, Inc., the country's top paging company. The pager or beeper as it is commonly referred to in the Philippines has become one of the primary means of communication and information dissemination and is therefore in line with Bitstop's thrust.

The surge of the Internet technology has not gone unnoticed in this part of the world. Bitstop decided that it must bring the benefits of this wondrous technology to its home in Pangasinan. Today, as an Internet Service Provider, Bitstop offers local dial up access in line with the global national and international roaming access of Mosaic Communications, Inc., the first commercial ISP in the Philippines. Bitstop also provides additional value added services.

From its humble beginnings, Bitstop has now reached out to neighboring towns and cities. Bitstop now services clients as far north as Baguio, La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte; to the west to as far as Zambales; to the east up to Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija; and towards Manila, to Tarlac and Angeles. A Naga City branch is also set up in the beautiful province of Camarines Sur, Bicol Region.
